An amazing experience by
Esther-Marie C from Mission Viejo, CA
Sailing date: Mar 2013 Pros:
The ship was beyond expectations as were the accommodations, food, entertainment and excursions.
Cons:
The most difficult thing was to leave because we weren't ready to end our experience.
The cruise exceeded expectations on all levels. The excursions were well planned and an excellent experience with the farm visits memorable. Food experiences on ship and ports of call were outstanding. The staff was very friendly with a special shout out to the Cruise Director and purser.
Ship Quality The ship was in excellent conditions, the accommodations were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Our cabin was more spacious than expected so it was pleasant to spend time in it when at sea.
Dining/Food All dining experiences were excellent and special recognition to the Chef's Table.
Stateroom Quality More spacious than expected, well appointed, clean and comfortable.
Ship Staff Quality All staff except one person in the ship store were friendly, courteous, helpful and attentive.
Entertainment & Activities Excellent entertainment and especially the last show, which was unexpected and outstanding.

A lovely cruise. by
A Traveler from Houston, Texas
Sailing date: Mar 2013 Pros:
Ephesus
Cons:
Olympia, workers on strike
It was a delightful cruise overall. Just wished there were more activities on the 3 days at sea! Dance classes should be offered in the afternoon, not at 7 pm every time.
Ship Quality The ship was clean and in good condition
Dining/Food Garden Cafe was always crowded, difficult to find seats. Sometimes service in main dining was slow
Stateroom Quality Good stateroom, comfortable. Good size bathroom
Ship Staff Quality All crew members and staff were friendly and helpful
Entertainment & Activities Great entertainment

Interesting by
A Traveler from Granite Bay, CA
Sailing date: Feb 2013 Pros:
the staff were exceptional
Cons:
everything we did had an extra expense
The ship felt schizophenic. We were in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea on a ship that was completely Hawaiian...even with a statue of King Kamehameha in the main dining room and Hawaiian motif everywhere. Even the jewelry for sale was Caribbean rather than items indiginous to the Mediterranean area.
Ship Quality No problems at all with the ship size and cleanliness was good except, apparently on a previous cruise, someone cut their toenails on our balcony and they were still on the balcony floor on our cruise.
Dining/Food We are vegetarian and we like the formality of the main dining room. Unfortunately, for us, that meant that every night (except for the last night when we had delicious eggplant cannelloni with the eggplant the shell) we had a choice of risotto, penne pasta, or spaghetti. Not what I would call specialty options.
Stateroom Quality The room was very nice and well laid out. Again, the decor was distinctly Hawaiian.
Ship Staff Quality Our cabin steward was exceptional. He even left little "towel" animals for us each day. Charming and delightful.
Entertainment & Activities We found that to participate in part of the activities, you had to pay extra..like bingo, etc. We thought the cost of the cruise should cover that.

Great cruise by
JF from Houston, TX
Sailing date: Nov 2012 Pros:
The entertainment staff was great!
Cons:
Food at the Garden Cafe was a little bland and not much of a variety
Wasn't too impressed when I first boarded the ship with the size of the room and the food but after meeting the staff I realized this was a great ship! Got over the size of the room but do wish the food was a little better.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Wished there was more variety at the Garden Cafe, especially for such a long cruise
Stateroom Quality Balcony rooms a little smaller than other ships but still good
Ship Staff Quality Very friendly, always greeting you with a smile
Entertainment & Activities Always something to do and the staff was great! Would cruise again mainly because of them!

Unforgettable Vacation by
Susan B from NY, NY
Sailing date: Oct 2012 Pros:
itinerary was great; cruise director was fantastic
Cons:
stateroom staff not as friendly as before
We sailed on the Norwegian Jade which is a sister ship to other ships we've been on. The size of the ship is quite manageable - not too big or too small. One of the features we really enjoy is the spa at the front of the boat and were happy to see that NCL now offers a deal if a couple signs up for the week. For $198 we had full access to the saunas, pools, showers, etc...all of which had wonderful ocean views. Overall the ship was clean and orderly and easy to get around. There were plenty of dining options and bar venues as well.
Dining/Food We enjoyed the main dining rooms, each of which had a different atmosphere although shared the same menu. The buffet was a bit hectic but options were abundant and the outside buffet in the rear of the ship was a great place to enjoy the scenery and fresh air. We only ate at one of the specialty restaurants but really enjoyed the food.
Stateroom Quality We upgraded to a balcony and were happy to have the outdoor space to enjoy the scenery on the cruise. The room was typical of staterooms and very adequate for our needs.
Entertainment & Activities We were a tad disappointed that there was no entertainment in the Star Bar as we had enjoyed on the Norwegian Gem. Otherwise, the entertainment options were good.

Cruise with a wonderful crew by
Ellyn R. from New York, NY
Sailing date: Jun 2012 Pros:
Gary the Cruise Director provided a great program of events and shows
Cons:
The food, especially the pastries and breads, were below NCL's usual standards!
lThe Jade was smaller than the other NCL ships I've been on. My cabin steward was a lovely woman who tried to meet my every need. The food was bad news, good news. The bad news was that the food was not satisfying and not worthy of a cruise ship. The good news is that I didn't gain as much weight as on my previous cruises.

Great ship with lots of options by
Bill H. from Indianapolis, IN
Sailing date: May 2012 Pros:
dining options, ports of call
The Jade is a great ship--with lots of options and venues. From arrival to departure, we were very pleased.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food there was some waiting for the free sit down restaurant during peak times--it could be up to an hour. There also seemed to be a disconnect between the status boards that are shown all over the ship and with the actual availability at the speciality restaurants--for example, they would show as having no availability but when we showed up, there was plenty of space available. The reverse also proved true when we tried to dine at the Italian restaurant and were turned away even though the status board showed open. Having said this, we did enjoy the food quality and varity. The Tappenyaki restaurant was one of the best we have ever dined at and was a highlight.
Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities We were very pleased with the variety and quality of the entertainment--much better than on other cruises we have taken.

A delightful cruise by
A Traveler from Chicago, IL
Sailing date: Oct 2011 Pros:
Loved our stateroom with a balcony -- a must-have for us in the future too
Cons:
This was our first cruise so we had nothing to compare -- all seemed quite nice
The ship seemed to be the perfect size
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Overall the dining experiences were good except for the buffet breakfast which was overcrowded with inadequate access to seating
Stateroom Quality We were placed in a disabled room so the spaces were larger than average
Ship Staff Quality Staff seemed friendly
Entertainment & Activities We did not care for the one theater experience so we did not go back again
Collapse List of Ports
Alexandria (Cairo), Egypt We were surprised by the amount of security needed here so we only went with the organized shore excursion to Cairo - Pyramids & Nile in Style. This was a very long day with stops at Papyrus, etc. that did not need to be included.
Don't Miss: Pyramids, of course
Izmir, Turkey We enjoyed this port the most. Ephesus was most impressive and the Turkish people were very friendly.
Don't Miss: Ephesus
Katakolon (Olympia), Greece Town was very small but we did enjoy going ashore just to walk around
Piraeus (Athens), Greece Of course, the Parthenon/Acropolis is the best reason to go to Athens
Don't Miss: Acropolis/Parthenon

Norwegian Jade by
Jon T from Natick, MA
Sailing date: Jun 2011 Pros:
The food was great
Cons:
Too many people and not enough lounge chairs
Overall the cruise was great. Loved the food and entertainment. Only big downfall was how people would 'claim' lounge chairs with towels and then leave them for hours. It's not a reflection on the cruise, just on people and how annoying they are. However, the cruise staff could do a better (or any) job of policing it.

Mykonos, Greece Don't Miss: Pretty picturesque. Big party beaches.
Santorini, Greece Don't Miss: It's unbelievably gorgeous
Katakolon (Olympia), Greece Not really worth it. Just souvenir stores, and cafes. And then a $100USD cab ride to Olympia.
