Sailing date: Jun 2012

Pros:
Elite program is one of the best in the business

Cons:
Safety & smoking policies (no lounge chairs or smoking on veranda's)

Great staff who were always willing to do what was necessary to make your time enjoyable. Food in the buffet was best we ever had on a cruise, which says a lot after 50+ cruises. Food in specialty restaurants and room service ordered from the dining room were amazing as well.

Celebrity Summit by LyudmilaT from Sacramento, CA
Sailing date: Apr 2012

Pros:
Overall food options were a lot better at Celebrity Summit rather than Carnival Splendor that we sailed on prior to that.

Cons:
Last breakfast-guy at previous egg benedict station took 45 min. to make an omlet and there were may be 7 people in line.

The ship itself was nice. Enough of lounge chairs through out different sections of the ship. If you wanted to find quite place to relax, it was easy to find it. I didn't eat much of the lunch menu as we were off at all of our destinations. Dinner was always enjoyable. Breakfast was good. It had a lot of options but they were the same every day. I would wish to see potatoes to be prepared in a different way from day to day and smoothies would have been a very nice addition to the whole breakfast menu. Fitness center was very nice. It would have been nice to have pool table on board and more ping pong tables. Overall, it was great.

Dining/Food
Overall quality of food was good. At times, some ot the things were a little on the salty side. Their beef dishes as stake, fillet mignon and ect. were the best !!! Sea food was pretty good as well. I didn't try any chicken dishes as I eat a lot of chicken at home and there wanted to try something different. Salad bar was pretty good as well. The only thing I missed was avacado but I think its probably not cost effective for them. Same with fruits and berries wider variety would have been nice but its probably not cost effective. Yet, watermelon, pineapple, bananna, apple, pear were ripe and great tasting. Soups were hit and miss. Some were very good and others like lentil soup with turkey ham not so good (and I wasn't not the only one who felt this way). I would like to see a station with fresh fruit smoothies, this would prevent fruits from going bad and at the same time provide healthy, tasty drink for guests. Breakfast buffet-needs to be changed from day to day.

Condition of the room was clean and overall good. The only negative thing was we had oceanview room and the window on the outside seemed like it was never washed but its probably impossible to do. Beds were not the top notch but for ship it was good.

The person who cleaned our room, Johnston, was the best!!! He always greeted us with smile. Very friendly, kind, joyful person. We really enjoyed his service. If he saw us walking to our room, he would open our door for us and welcome us in. The room was always clean and stocked up, Thank you so much Johnston, you made our stay top notch. Concierge desk-always pleasant, very helpful, answered all of our questions.

Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment was nice. I enjoyed everything but Matilda show which I thought was lame but it could have been just me. I loved the pianist, guitarist, orchestra, Katya and Dima's acrobatic/ballet presentation, dancers, Alehandro-cruise director, was very entertaining.

Pros:
Being on the water

Cons:
Cannot think of anything really

Thought the whole experience was wonderful. Especially liked the attention by our stateroom attendant...Bart. Also felt like family to several other crew members as the week went along...Jallena, Colin, Nickola, and Mauricio. We used the back deck to relax and eat at a lot...those gentlemen did a great job keeping us in 'cruise mode'. The evening shows were superb! Especially the comedian.

Family Bermuda Cruise 7 days - Summit NJ by Philip L. from Piscataway, NJ
Sailing date: Aug 2012

Pros:
The quality of food in the main dining room is good

Cons:
Dining room service is very slow; No dinner buffet served; Lunch time is very short; Last day's breakfast closed at 8:30 am

The ship is smaller and older with less facilities to explore. When the ship is on port, there is not too much to do unless going for shore excursions. The Persian Garden in the spa is so small in compare to other cruise ship's paid spa. It's not worth paying money for it.

Dining/Food
The quality of food in the Cosmopolitan Restaurant (main dining room) is good with the exception of soup (too salty), fish (over-cooked), and prime rib (tough to chew). I am so surprised that the buffet restaurant did not serve dinner buffet. It only has Sushi, stir fry, grilled meat/fish, pasta and pizza. Almost most of the passengers need to eat in the main dining room. The service in the main dining room is very slow. It took 2+ hours to finish dinner spending most of time waiting for foods to be served. The buffet restaurant's breakfast and lunch almost have the same things every day. The burgers stand closed at 6:30 pm. It is quite a surprise too. Breakfast in the buffet restaurant closed at 8:30 am on the last day of cruise. Main dining room breakfast closed at 8 am. In compare to other cruise line's restaurant hours, Celebrity is much worse than I expected. You can get up a bit late due to disembarking time is later and can't find any food to eat.

Overall, the stateroom is OK with the exception of the bathroom. It is almost no storage space. You can only put your tooth brushes and paste in the bathroom. Other stuffs have to be store outside of the bathroom.

Ship Staff Quality
Ship staffs are not that friendly at all. Some of them won't even greet you when they meet you face-to-face. Since we have select dining, we have different waiter/waitress every night. Some of the waiter/waitress even ignore or forgot your request. I had cruise with 12 other cruise ships with different cruise line. This is the first time that I have crew staffs with such services.

Relaxing Oasis by A Traveler from Providence, RI

Pros:
The specialty restaurant "Qsine"

Cons:
Not enough staff

The employees on the ship work really hard. At first they where not friendly but the next day they seemed fine. I feel that it's due to being overworked due to staffing. The ship was a good size, and so were the rooms. Really enjoyed the cruise director, the entertainment, and variety of bars.

stingy cruise by jen w seto from United States
Sailing date: Mar 2012

Pros:
food and show

Cons:
stingy room

We cruised the Summit two years ago to Alaska, they have refreshed part of the ship since. Last month we cruise the Summit again to the Caribbean, we had a outside cabin with a big window and the cabin is nice size, we feel comfortable except going to the bathroom, we smell sewage while we are using the bathroom, we reported to the steward and the plumber came, they did not know where the smell come from, they came three times during the week, but can not solve the problem.

The worst cruise we have ever taken by Gayle J from Tucson, Az
Sailing date: Dec 2012

Pros:
Only thing nice was our stateroom

Cons:
The food, the service, entertainment

We and all of our other friends and family were terribly disappointed in the Celebrity Summit as a whole. We will never sail on this ship or line again. It was the first cruise on Celebrity, having sailed numerous times on Royal Caribbean and Holland America.

The food quality was very poor. Over cooked, cold, monotonous, even lobster night was a big dissapointment. It was so tough I could hardly eat. One person in our party ask for a second one and was ignored, and rushed. On ordering coffee after our main course, it did not come until dessert was finished and then it was cold. This happened routinely.

We recently took a cruise on the Celebrity Summit and it was very disappointing. Although the staff tried to make the experience enjoyable, we did not like the food or the entertainment on board. We would not recommend this cruise.
