I am a morning person so waking up early and sipping some hot tea while enjoying the scenery and the quietness was excellent. For some reason this time there were not enough shows at night and we missed those. Also, there were too many noisy people (loud music, drunk, even teens) in the Serenity area so it was disappointing. Also, a couple of nights it was clear that the kitchen line in the main restaurants was struggling a bit and one night the service came to a stop. We left the restaurant and placed a complaint with guest services and the next nights were uneventful. If you see anything you do not like, notify guest services, they really go the extra mile to please you. The ship has beautiful decorations (lights, etc.) and the crew were outstanding! Ship Details: Ship Quality Dining/Food This is my second cruise and I liked the food in the general dining areas better last time than this time. The iced tea was way too strong the first few days and then too weak the last couple of days! Coffee was good, but not hot enough! Had to use my thermal cup to keep it hot enough to drink during my breakfast. Dining room food very good. I especially LOVE the Melting Chocolate Cake dessert!!!!!! Stateroom Quality Very nice! Loved our balcony room. HATED the smokers on either side of us. Would LOVE to see a bank of balcony rooms for NON SMOKERS ONLY!!!!!!!!! Wanted to enjoy the balcony, but could not!!! One day the man to our left was smoking a CIGAR!!!!!!!!!! Yuck! Ship Staff Quality Very friendly & hard workers! Ship Details: Ship Quality Extremely clean constantly. Just too many people. Dining/Food The options in the Market Place were great and the food was excellent for cafeteria food. The dining room food was not so great. Probably because of the large # of people to be served and the holding times for plates, the entrees were not always hot and usually overcooked (fish dishes especially). "On Your Time" dining option was great. Did not check out the specialty restaurants. Stateroom Quality Best part of the cruise. Large, conveniently arranged stateroom with lots of storage. Very clean. Location was great on 10th deck - of course cost more but worth it. Ship Staff Quality EVERY member of the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Dining room wait staff exceptional. They were awesome! Ship Details: Ship Quality The ship is very clean and nice although I prefer the Carnival Conquest decor and setup better. Dining/Food The food was hit and miss and we got tired of eating hamburgers. In my opinion the food on the Carnival Conquest was better. On certain days the food was really good on others is was not. Stateroom Quality Our inside cabin stateroom was small but comfortable bed. Unfortunately our room was at the back of the ship and the first night leaving Galveston was so bumpy that my daughter got sick and threw up. It was really bad! I'm almost sure I told them I did not want a room at the back or front of ship. Ship Staff Quality Staff was awesome and very friendly and worked hard to make us comfortable and our trip enjoyable. Entertainment & Activities We only did one excursion to the Atlantis Resort and it was awesome. All that I had desired but we did the Discovery Atlantis tour and was NOT allowed into most restuarants for lunch and my daughter was told we could not do the Casio but that was not correct information so we went back to ship area for shopping after our Atlantis tour. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful. Cons: can't think of anything Magic was a great ship - layout was good, amenities were good. They really made our stateroom something to look forward too in the evening after a full days fun and activities. Ship Staff Quality Entertainment & Activities Jay, the person that ran the Karaoke was great. Cons: The smoke in the casino and the noise when dinning. Excellent Ship. Would suggest clearer directions on how to get around the ship. Maybe, discreet arrows or lines on the floors or walls would help. Overall we had an excellent time and it was very relaxing, the food was fantastic and the staff was exceptional. The ship, Carnival Magic, is new and very large and we learned about the many venues in the ship ourselves, for some reason Carnial does not provide information about all the different nightclubs on the 5th floor. Food was good and the food staff at the formal restaurants went out of their way if something was not right. Room were clean and the ship was smooth sailing. We would sail again on that ship and agreed if the cruise was longer we would be happy and comfortable to stay longer. Ship Details: Ship Quality Layout to us and other guests we met were confusing and took time to get use to. Dining/Food We got the flex time so we did not have to rush to meet our appointed time to eat. Stateroom Quality We liked the room. We got the room with the outside deck. Ship Staff Quality Staff was especially friendly and went out of their way if something was not right. They are one of the reasons we would go with this ship again. Entertainment & Activities Many options of entertainment everynight. Usually there is a show in the main theater and later in the evening the nightclub has a show. This was our first Cruise, and we had a wonderful time on the Carnival Magic, from the moment of Embarrkment until we were back in Galveston each and every moment was wonderful. The food was great and everyone working on the ship had a smile on their face every day. This was truly a wonderful experience and we have wonderful memories. Ship Details: Ship Quality Dining/Food Excellent food and service. Stateroom Quality We had an interior cabin it was great for what little bit of time we spent in it.
